Post Workout Stretches For The Performance Horse: These are 4 post-workout stretches we use on every horse each day.  Exercises 1 and 2 help the horse stretch their neck and shoulder muscles and self-adjust their cervical vertebra.  In exercise 3, we scratch the horse’s belly to encourage them to lift their back and wither, resulting in engagement of their core muscles.  Exercise 4, pelvic tucks, facilitates the stretching and strengthening of the horse’s back, lumbar region and abdomen.  Do not use this exercise if your horse is prone to kicking.  We work up to having the horse hold each stretch for 10 seconds and we repeat each exercise 4 times per session.  BW-Raphael is a 4-year-old that was lightly started 7 months ago.  If you would like help with these exercises, please feel free to call Linda at 410-885-2053.
